Overview: Q returns to tempt Commander Riker into joining the Continuum.
Writers: C.J. Holland & Gene Roddenberry
Director: Cliff Bole
Anon2: Christ! I got 6 and you got 8. Wow! That's a big card count and I think we possibly missed one. You never know.
Anon: Possibly. I know Gift of the Tormentor is in there somewhere, but I don't know what the image is. Other cards we spotted: Klingon Mate, Are These Truly Your Friends Brother?, I Forgive Your Blasphemy, Lemon-Aid - wow! What a random one.
Anon2: (laughs) Yeah, that was funny. Q's tent too.
Anon: Yeah, Q's Tent. Admiral Q, Aldebaraan Serpent...
Anon2: Q-Type Android.
Anon: Yep, and Q's Vicious Animal Things. We think Q-Net's from this as well.
Anon2: Yeah, not from the other episode so we need to knock that one off. Whatever episode that was. But we don't remember which one, so we can't do it.
Anon: So, it's the second Q episode. Better or worse than Farpoint?
Anon2: Better. Because basically Q is fucking cool as fucking fuck. He doesn't give a shit. He gets zapped away by his own people at the end. But he's just total fucking yeah... "I'm a right cunt." (laughs) And that's how it is. Brilliant!
Anon: More trouble to come from Q in season 2 as well. The relationship between Picard Q is one of the... charming things in a way about Next Gen. There always at each others' backs. Q's continually winding him up. He loves that. It's a great theme to me that runs through the whole thing.
Anon2: Yeah, absolutely. You got that a little bit in Farpoint, but this is where it really gets going and interesting and stuff. Y'know, I think it gets quite interesting actually. You've got the relationship that Q has with Riker, like when Riker gets given the Q-abilities and stuff. He got really arrogant and everything. Picard's kinda like that. He's arrogant, but he's good with it.
Anon: Quite a bit of Riker in this episode too.
Anon2: Yeah. He does a lot of posturing.
Anon: Much posturing. He's basically showing us the side of his nuts.
Anon2: At one point, he puts his foot up on a big rock. He's going "Look at my balls... my huge balls!"
Anon: (laughs)
Anon2: Oh, and he also told Data off.
Anon: Yeah, that's in there too. Not the first time that Riker has a go at Data, is it?
Anon2: No, probably not. No. Don't know why. Maybe he needs a joint.
Anon: When Riker has his conference with the supposed "senior staff" on the bridge, Wesley's there, but Troi isn't. Wesley basically turns up, is transported to the planet and gets stabbed in the back. In fact, that was quite a pleasant sight.
Anon2: Yeah, you've got to bare in mind that in Justice they had the opportunity to kill him off but they didn't. Then this episode they did kill him, but they brought him back to life. So, you've got to make your minds up there. What's going on? They had two chances to kill him and didn't. Poor.
Anon: And then there's super-gay Older Wesley.
Anon2: Oh my God! Right, Geordi thinks, "Wesley, he's a bit of a guy!" What the fuck?! I mean, y'know, Geordi touches people up a lot, mainly guys. He thinks Wesley is a bit of alright, so you have to think, "What's the motivation here?" I mean, what's going on?
Anon: Geordi at this stage is basically defined by the fact he has the VISOR. That's basically his sole purpose in the series.
Anon2: Yeah, and Q basically, no, I mean Q-Riker...
Anon: Qiker?
Anon2: Yeah, Qiker, he's a quaker!
Anon: (laughs)
Anon2: Anyway, basically Qiker starts off giving people all their wishes. He goes up to Geordi and makes him see and basically there's this really dodgy edit of Qiker allegedly making him see again. You've got to see this edit. It's so shit it's unbelievable.
Anon: In a few episodes' time, there's the episode Too Short A Season. Remind me to show you something they really should've edited out.
Anon2: Great. I'll probably spot it.
Anon: You may well do. I saw John deLancie, who plays Q in an episode of The West Wing recently. He gets around. He was also in the film Single White Female with Rebecca De Mornay. Did you see that?
Anon2: Yeah, I did see that.
Anon: He was touching her up or something.
Anon2: Yeah. He was a paedo or something, wasn't he?
Anon: Er... a paedo that likes pregnant women?
Anon2: Something like that.
Anon: It would be a strange combination.
Anon2: He was a bit Michael Jackson if you ask me.
Anon: By the way, if anyone wants an update, Michael Jackson is still dead.
Anon2: And he was still a paedo.
Anon: Hmmm... we got a draw in the cricket by the way.
Anon2: Hooray!
Anon: Next episode is Haven. You remember that one?
Anon2: At the moment, no.
Anon: It was the first Lwaxana Troi episode.
Anon2: HOMN!
Anon: I guess the big question is...
Anon2: (burps loudly)
Anon: ... who is more gay: Mr. Homn, the hom-boy or The Traveler, the bumming boy. We'll leave that question for another time.
Anon2: I think it's Wesley.
Anon: Or possibly Geordi after the last episode.
Anon2: No, I still think it's Wesley.
Anon: Okay, see you next time.
