When I came back to London
Leaving Warwick far behind
Wanted to keep playing Trek
It was the summer of ‘99
Me, and some guys I knew
Played the game and we tried real hard
Tobin quit, and James got married
But the rest of us went quite far
Those days are over now
We knew they wouldn’t last forever
Don’t call it a waste of time
Cause it’s what brought us all together
Those were the best days of my life
Sure, we did some complaining
Prize support got really poo
Spent my evenings home building combos
Or having a beer or two
Sitting in a London pub
The tourneys seemed to last forever
Chatting with our decks in hand
We didn’t think of quitting ever
Those were the best days of my life
Back in the summer of '99
Man we were killin' time
We were young and restless
We needed to unwind
I guess nothin' can last forever - forever, no
And now the times are changin'
Look at everything that's come and gone
Sometimes when I find my old Trek cards
I think about it, wonder what went wrong
Sitting in a London pub
The tourneys seemed to last forever
Chatting with our decks in hand
We didn’t think of quitting ever
Those were the best days of my life
Back in the summer of '99
